Pages and binding are presentable with no major defects. Minor issues present such as mild cracking, inscriptions, inserts, light foxing, tanning and thumb : Wyndham Lewis. Soldier is a fantastic book. But it has some items that are unusual for a VN War book.

First, the author's story is from am officer's perspective. He is a Lt. Col. in VN in IG and command assignments. Second, you get to hear his incredible experiences as a child in WV and as /5(54).

Anthony Herbert tells his story in a straightforward and transparent way, and it is compelling reading. Like another soldier whose story resembles his, David Hackworth, Herbert came from a blue-collar background where the military was held in great esteem, joined the Army as a teenager, sought out and excelled at the most difficult duties as an elite soldier, rose to the rank of colonel, and /5.
